Muay Thai Boxer Fortifies Sports and Leisure Destination Complex in Thailand

The competition to be established as the world’s top international sports facility just became tougher as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has named former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to head the martial arts program at the extensive Phuket, Thailand sports centre.   Just as muay thai boxing requires perseverance and talent, the assignment is another anecdote of the PIASLC recruiting top specialists to work at the emerging impressive facility and help place it as the leading sports and leisure destination in Asia.

The Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) complex has programmes suitable for everyone including Olympic class athletes, residents, holiday visitors and school kids.   Swimming, track, rugby, football (soccer), fitness, tennis and much more are available already or coming soon at what is becoming a benchmark as a regional hub for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and perhaps the world.

The PIASLCis organized into specialized sports academies.  The new assignmentof Prasert Intanoo should push the Martial Arts Academy to international attention.   The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as leading programmes. BSS uses Futebol de Salao (FDS).  The training and game is known for a 5-a-side version of soccer originally from South America.  It is played with a smaller (size 2), and a little heavier (465gm) ball that has very little bounce to it.   Now Muay Thai joins the preeminent youth soccer training programme available at the finest sports and recreation complex in Southeast Asia.

Former Thailand national flyweight champion Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an outstanding record of seventy victories.  He graduated from university with a degree in physical education.  He went on to work for Marriot as a Muay Thai instructor, and in his role as Recreation Supervisor managed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.

The PIASLC is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA).  PIA is an integrated facility boasting Phuket’s newest International School, a multi-faceted Sports and Leisure Club for elite athletes, amateur enthusiasts, artists and wellness seekers – all within the Mind Centre sanctuary that provides training in the cultivation of mental and emotional equilibrium. Phuket International Academy  prides itself on being a dependable member of the community.  It is committed to operating with integrity as an equal opportunity employer and adhering to the highest ethical standards to accomplish the intellectual, physical, creative and spiritual potential of all students, members and participants of the three centres.  Located in the northern reaches of Phuket, just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport, PIA also includes two 38-room boutique hotels and an impressive range of facilities ideal for corporate retreats, seminars, and teambuilding programmes and events.  The intent of Phuket International Academy is to fulfill the intellectual, physical, creative and spiritual possibilities of all students, members and participants of the three centres.

The Phuket International Academy Day School (PIADS) is working to achieve a three programme International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As a leading international school in Thailand, it will draw upon distinctive Asian culture and the best from Western educational traditions, to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and compassionate young people who know how to conduct their lives with integrity, cultivate genuine happiness, and who work toward a more peaceful and sustainable earth.

The Phuket International Academy Mind Centre will  offer  a combination of contemporary psychology and neuroscience in association with traditional Asian meditative practices.  Delivered through residential retreats and weekend seminars PIAMC is open to all. Working in close relation with the PIA Day School and the PIA Sports and Leisure Club, the programmes offered through Phuket International Academy Mind Centre will contribute to everyone’s enhanced mental balance and wellbeing.
