When you are a soccer coach, it’s necessary for you to be aware of the important soccer training tips to teach the game to your players. These ideas can then be easily incorporated in your soccer drills sessions carried out 4 or 5 times in a week depending on the standard of your game.

You can help your players to perk up their performance by coaching them on these very important tips and techniques. These are as follows;

Train your players to continuously move the ball with one or two touches: In a team setting, this is called inter-passing. Guide the players to play the ball with speed and make hard solid passes, whether it’s a 3 meter or 20 meter pass.

Play the ball and keep travelling: Playing and moving encloses the basic idea behind making runs. But the important thing here is to make sure that these runs open up goal scoring opportunities and make spaces for the other team members.

Soccer Training

Soccer skills are primarily aimed at developing kid’s ability to create goal scoring options. Here, you must set up your defender. Instruct your players to draw near towards the defender, assuming that he or she is going to be able to get the ball, then give it and go, speed up into the open space to receive or return the pass.

When dribbling, guide players to change their pace after making a move to beat the opponent. They should try to keep the ball moving as fast as they can and quickly attack the opponent. As soon as they get an opportunity to break, they should strike back with some accurate passes.

Train players to keep the ball close to their feet when controlling the ball: One of the soccer training tips is to keep the head up and watch the field as everybody is moving. They should try and make contact with the ball on every step when dribbling it. This has the effect of having close control over the ball and improving a player’s ability to take away the ball from defenders.

Get the cross in: During the first half of the game, take shots on the goal and observe the goalkeeper throughout. When the player knows that he/ she is going to run in between the spaces, the other members of the team should be aware of it. It type of communication is necessary of the young players in the course of their development.

When training for soccer, teach players to try and aim for the area flanked by the 6 and 18 yard boxes. As a result of it, the goalkeeper will come forward in an effort to catch hold of the ball. This will make the goal open and defenseless.

Keep a watch on the ball: Watch the movement of all players on the field, all the time. Coach your players in such a way that they strictly follow the team’s approach and strategy for the day.

Football And The Need For Technology

So the World Cup party is starting to settle down and the inevitable fallout is in full swing. England’s swift exit was a huge let down for fans but that disapointment could have given way to seething anger had the game have swung on England’s second goal which was disallowed by the referee.

After the game, fans meekly tried to insist that the result would have been different had the second goal been called in, the truth is that the three lions were outclassed by a much more cohesive, effective German side. Some even saw this as a good thing, because, had the score remained 2-1 to the Germans in absence of an England’s leveler, the sport would have been brought into disrepute.

Sep Blatter, FIFA top dog finally admitted two weeks after the game that goal-line cameras needed to be introduced to eradicate the possibiliity of similar occurrences in the future and bring football into line with other sports that have used technology successfully for years. Cameras on the goal-line are an obvious choice but other techniques suggested are a unified communications network between the officials allowing lightning fast negotiations to keep the game flowing.

With regards to the specific technology used, Voice Over IP Phone headsets have been suggested for their ease of use and ability to host multiple conversations at once. This way the referee would have instant access to communications with linesmen. There are some detractors that say such technology would slow the game down, but in sports like tennis which use the Cyclops device , player disputes with umpires have been greatly reduced which actually serves to keep the action going.

All it takes is a camera set on the goal-line and an IP Phone system for officials, ease of implementation and cost is hardly an issue considering the millions of pounds circulating in English football currently. While Blatter has insisted that the sport retain as much of it’s tradition as possible with the Premireship being no different to Sunday league football, players’ overblown wages surely undermine this argument.

The sport needs technology and quickly, there are too many incidents of obvious goals being disallowed with potentially game changing consequences. Football is mired in the past and technology is the only thing that can drag it out. Let us all pray that Blatter sees sense, at least before the next World Cup.

Let me tell you that stretching is an vital part of soccer training tips and professional coaches highly recommend it along with almost every player in every sport practicing it daily? Soccer is a sport which is continuously growing and developing in its intricacy.

There are two kinds of stretching; static and dynamic, that are slotted in planning training for the soccer season.

Static stretching requires players to stretch their muscles to a point of resistance and hold for a given duration of time. When it comes to dynamic stretching, recurring motions, rhythmic bouncing, and rebounding is what the player does. In comparison with static stretching, it is more risky and less useful.

This article shares some of the benefits that stretching provides in helping average players become champions.

Stretching reduces injuries: Constant stretching by players during the day and continuing it over a period of time helps the growth of their muscles, thus diminishing the risk of injury. Stretching also provides a way of improving the size and strength of muscles.

Stretching shapes flexibility: Stretching puts a stop to any loss of flexibility. Still, the effects of stretching are way better when it is done for a long period of time than for a shorter duration.

Stretching a few minutes prior to any event is likely to increase flexibility. One of the most important soccer training tips is to focus on enhancing the player’s range of motion by spreading out the stretching program over a period of months together.

Stretching perks up performance: When stretching program is designed specifically to suit soccer needs of the players, their performance improves.

Stretching can be a lot of fun: For this, you need to add variety in your soccer drills and focus a lot on performing them. Keep altering the warm up exercises that you do before stretching. Try various activities like tag games, ball tag, and keep away.

Contemplate on the stretching, sense and know each stretch, along with checking for stiffness in the body.

In most of the cases a single 15-30 minute stretch for each muscle group is enough for kids but some may need longer stretches or more repetitions.

The reason for this is that when the temperature of muscles is higher than normal, stiffness decreases and extensibility increases. Kids who hope to retain or boost their flexibility can somewhat reach this goal by stretching. Doing stretching when the body temperature is higher as against normal makes it more productive, safe, and sound.

That’s why some experienced coaches recommend stretching after a workout also. Stretching for five minutes after practicing soccer skills prevents muscles from tightening too fast.

In general, players who do an active warm-up before stretching get an improved range of motion than kids who only stretch. So if injury prevention is your aim, stop stretching before exercise and increase the warm up time.

Some food for thought; one of the most important soccer training tips is that hurried stretching is meaningless and boring and doesn’t help your players gain flexibility, so allow them some extra time when they are feeling inflexible or stiff. In Warm Weather, Children Are In The Hot Seat

Speed and agility training in the summertime means teams working out and practicing in the heat. Thus, young athletes do not adapt to hot weather like adults. Don’t underestimate the importance of knowing the warning signs for heat illnesses and how to prevent them. These illnesses consist of any of the following, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and heat cramps. If your team is doing strength training workouts, as an adult, you need to keep in mind how dangerous heat illness can be to your charges. In reality, heat sickness can be most dangerous to children.  The mortality rate for children having heat stroke is 17 to 70%. Things to consider are the seriousness of the ailment and the youth’s age.

Children experience heat-related unwellness when their bodies are unable to offset and properly cool themselves.  Young people are more susceptible to heat illness because they can’t adjust as quickly or as well to changes in temperatures as do adults. They also generate additional heat with activity. Young athletes perspire less than adults and they do so at a higher body temperature..  Those kids, whom are heavy, have continuing illnesses and take a number of medications are even more susceptible to high heat conditions during practice.

INDICATORS
Heat Cramps – sore, involuntary muscle twitches, frequently in the gastrocnemius or hamstring muscles (the muscles at the rearward of the forelegs and thighs)

Dehydration – fatigue, thirstiness,  wooziness, less-recurrent urination,  muddiness, escalated heart rate and respiration, parched skin,  dry mouth and mucous membranes

Heat Exhaustion – clammy, pale skin, sweating, dry mouth,  tiredness (fatigue), headache and or dizziness

Heat Stroke – Loss of consciousness, confusion or hallucinations, headache, agitation, high body temperature, absence of diaphoresis, deep or shallow breathing, weak pulse rate, seizures|

PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
Be aware that temperatures over 80 degrees make conditions favorable to heat illness..  Know that excessive humidity reduces a body’s ability to discard surplus heat by perspiring. Prevent heat illness by getting children used to the hot weather. Raise periods of intensity of workouts over the first two weeks and avoid hard work in the first week Have them work out in cooler parts of the day, as morning or early evening. Make sure children rest frequently. Before practice, hydration is strongly recommended. It is very important to have plenty of water on hand during practice. Minors need to drink fluids every 20 minutes while working out, whether thirsty or not. Fluids to avoid are caffeine and anything carbonated. Minors should wear well-ventilated, light-weight and sweat-absorbing.

Whether your teen or your team is doing agility training as a handler or parent, you require to be aware of the seriousness of heat-related ailments.  Respect the heat or there could be fatal consequences.
